About Total Screening:

Total Screening is a fully registered umbrella body for the Disclosure and Barring Service and Disclosure Scotland.

Established as ‘TotalCRB’ in 2005, and rebranded to reflect the update from CRB to DBS, we provide a quality DBS disclosure service to a wide variety of professional and voluntary organisations throughout the UK.

With many years experience managing DBS applications as a registered body, Total Screening offers specialist advice on the DBS process and strive to answer any other questions that our clients may have.

Our friendly and knowledgeable support team process and administer Basic, Standard and Enhanced levels of criminal record checks and are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service at all times.

The Total Screening Process

All Disclosure information received by us is stored securely in a safe environment which complies with DBS guidelines and the Data Protection Act. Once the DBS Disclosure application has been checked and counter-signed we then forward it to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Processing takes approximately 10 – 14 days for the Basic and Standard Disclosures and 2-8 weeks for an Enhanced disclosure as they are subject to additional checks with the police force local to the applicant. Once the check is completed, the DBS or DS send the completed certificate directly to the potential employee at their current address.

Once the disclosure information has been used and it is no longer necessary for it to be stored, we dispose of all personal information according to the guidelines issued by the DBS and DS. This information is not copied or used for any other purpose.
